Stefano Farina

Winery
Stefano Farina was named after his grandfather, who established the winery back in the 1930s. So passionate was Stefano Sr. about the wines he produced and the land from which they came from that he made his three sons promise to never abandon this pursuit or his properties. Though he later founded lucrative industrial companies, his family upheld his greatest wish and has continued to care for their vineyards and wineries until today, now led by Stefano Sr.’s grandson.
The estate encompasses parcels and facilities throughout the Langhe, including La Morra and Diano d’Alba. Although they have every advantage of modern technology at their disposal, Farina uses no roto-fermenters but rather a special gravity-driven, naturally cap-collapsing type of fermentation tank that he believes makes it possible to avoid the production of undesirable green tannins in his wines. Ageing takes place in large botte for the Barolo and Barbaresco, whereas the Barbera and Dolcetto see only stainless steel in order to preserve the fresh fruit flavors of those fantastic, easy-drinking varietals. With a traditional profile yet modern elegance, these wines offer incredible value at such affordable prices!
