Mas Du Fadan

Winery
Mas du Fadan is owned by David Fayet, a young winegrower who cares deeply about the environment and the integrity of his vineyards and wines. In 2010, he received his organic certification. He uses sheep manure to fertilize his 7.5 hectare vineyard (18 acres), does mechanical weeding, regular plowing and a severe debudding in the spring. The yields are kept exceptionally low: 20hl/ha. David feels strongly about all of these efforts, which are certainly worthwhile as his vines are in perfect condition and the harvested fruit is ripe and concentrated. The grapes are handpicked and sorted to keep only the best. For vinification the grapes are 100% de-stemmed, generally a cold pre-fermentation maceration, daily pumping over and punching down, and only indigenous yeasts are used. The wines are generally fi ned for stability, but are not filtered. The result are wines that are truly terrior driven and way over deliver on price.
The name of the domaine is evocative: “The fadan or fada is the name given to whoever has been touched by the fairies and lost their mind.”

Wines
Cotes Du Ventoux Rose 2010
With a vibrant crayon-pink color, this Rosé is a lovely blend of Grenache and Syrah from the southern Rhone Valley. Ripe notes of fresh strawberry with hints of raspberry lead to a fruity, medium-bodied, round rosé wine with a clean, fresh finish, perfect to accompany foods from fish to barbeque. The Ventoux region sits in the southeastern corner of the Rhone valley, high on the Vaucluse plateau, and east of the ancient city of Avignon and the great vineyards of Chateauneuf du Pape.

Cotes Du Ventoux Les Fees 2007
The Cotes Du Ventoux Les Fees is a blend of Grenache and Syrah that are blended from a single vineyard estate in the Southern Rhone region of Cotes du Ventoux. This Rhone blend has impressive structure and great fruit balance.
A lovely example of mature Ventoux, revealing the sunny nature of the 2007 vintage in its velvety tannins and hints of chocolate and warmth. Raspberry and plum fruit carry a faintly peppery-herbal edge.
